The response to the first showing was tremendous so keep the comments coming.
Christies Auction House have a fairly impressive Kelly letter in their March 20th Kensington sale. Written from St David’s February 1979, it features a beautiful detailed watercolour/ink of a church in Kendal. The letter was sent to Peter Scott, chairman of Provincial Insurance who had commissioned Percy to make some Kendal paintings for their boardroom. He became a friend and supporter and kept in touch after Percy and Chris moved to Wales. He used to visit them regularly and take the whole family out for a slap-up lunch in the Warpool Court Hotel in St David’s until the occasion when Percy turned up in a yellow flowered summer dress. Scott wrote him a stiff letter when he got back suggesting he seek psychiatric help. Percy sent an indignant reply pretending he had no idea what he meant. Scott didn’t visit them again.
Peter Scott gave his collection of illustrated letters from Percy to Abbot Hall Gallery in Kendal but he framed and kept this one which was hung in his London house. He died a few years ago.

We are going to hear, see and discover more and more about Kelly for sure.

Don’t forget the illustrated talk at Theatre by the Lake next Thursday @ 11.00 about Kelly and West Cumbria in the Main House. Stay on for Jovan Nicholson’s talk about his grandparents Ben and Winifred @ 4.15.
