ON THE TRAIL

Date Posted: 14th October 2013

The six Percy Kelly trails on the West Cumberland coast will be launched next Wednesday 16th at 12 noon at The Wave Maryport. I will be giving a short presentation with images. If you haven't done so already you need to tell West Cumbria Tourism that you will be attending straight away. kread@cumbriatourism.org

The box of 6 guides with maps, paintings and routes are selling swiftly. They come out of the box like jewels. I handed a box to a friend today and she'd sold it before she'd gone 10 yards. I delivered to the tea shop in  Allonby and the same thing happened. This week I have posted out dozens which were ordered on the web site. Remember you can download them on to your computer, i phone or tablet from the merchandise page as well. The advantage of this is that you can enlarge the maps and images on your computer and carry them with you without spoiling the little pocket sized guides.

They are packed with information, stories and images.  If you have more to add or just want to tell us about your walk and discoveries please add this on the contact page. (e mail a photo if you wish) I will publish some of them on this news page. I look forward to your personal experiences and feedback. If your message is private then say so.

Castlegate House has a small exhibition of Kelly's work to coincide with the launch and also has a good stock of guides for sale.  There will be more places on the trails. This week's Times and Star has a full page about the trails with images and comparisons with the present day. I will scan and put it on the news page in due course.

Hope to see you at the launch or on the trails.

Chris
