For all the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.

After 3 weeks of non-stop activity, drama and excitement; when there has barely been a day, hour minute without someone visiting Scene and Unseen at the theatre looking and enjoying it all. It has brought so much pleasure to many many people. I and the team have really enjoyed meeting you and hearing your stories. One visitor brought along a carefully wrapped tobacco pipe in beautiful condition - we are 99% sure it belonged to  Percy Kelly from its authentication and elegance. The exhibition brought people I hadn’t seen in years and left me exhausted but happy. Although the footfall by the theatre was heavy and the lakeside car park full well beyond its capacity, the people who came to the exhibition were Kelly fans and had come specifically for that aand some had travelled a long way.  About 95% of the exhibition has sold as you will see on the web site in WORKS FOR SALE. Every item in the exhibition has come directly from Pear Tree Cottage in Norfolk where Kelly died in 1993.

We will dismantle the exhibition sadly tomorrow Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd so lucky buyers can come and pick up the works they have purchased between 12 noon and 4.30pm on either of those days. After that you will be able to make arrangements to collect from me. chris@thepinkegg.co.uk. at a time convenient to us both. Please be minded that payment must have been made to Cumbria Theatre Trust and cleared before we will release  your purchase.

The big surprise has been  the popularity of the etchings made from Kelly’s beautiful etching plates found under his printing press after his death. We printed them in editions of 75 and there are now very few left from the initial editions but  there is still capacity for a few more if the plates can stand it.  The ones that have reached the 75 limit are marked as sold on the web. You can go on the waiting list if there is one you want but I can’t promise anything at this stage. I am not taking any payment until they are here in my hands.

There are 4 smaller paintings at the bottom of Works for Sale which were not in the exhibition as they are not part of the estate. I will be adding to these as and when I get a chance I will put more details there when we have done all the packing and delivery. Keep your eye on the web site for more news. The talks and showing of the film  were booked up immediately they were advertised so I will put details in the newsletter when I am scheduled to do it again somewhere in Cumbria..
